Snapshot of the Week: My 4th of July Weekend

This 4th of July, I was lucky enough to have a 4 day weekend. That meant there was plenty of time for local travel adventuring! Here are a few photo highlights from my holiday…

Thursday- Old Rag- View

The view from Old Rag – an 8 mile hike in Shenandoah National Park that’s named Virginia’s “most popular and dangerous hike.”

Thursday- old rag- rock stairs

A stone staircase with a boulder makes for the perfect photo-op.

Thursday- Old Rag rocks

Rock hoppers up on the rock scramble.

Thursday- Fireworks

Killer views of the 4th of July fireworks in Washington. (That white blob in the middle is the US Capital Building!)

Friday- Pearmund sign

Wine tasting at Pearmund Cellars (voted the #1 winery in Virginia this year by Virginia Wine Lover Magazine) was a great way to spend the day.

Satuday- Ale Wife

A fun craft beer list at Alewife in downtown Baltimore. (I opted for a tart cherry cider!)

Satuday- Out in Hampden

Drinks out on the town at the Food Market in Hampden, Baltimore

Sunday- Shopping on the Avenue

A little shopping at Trohv in Hampden. Love walking and exploring the unique shops along the Avenue.

Sunday - Pesto Montage

Ended the weekend on a domestic note- picking basil from my garden and making pesto, based on a recipe I picked up while studying abroad in Italy!
