Snapshot of the Week: Milford Sound at Dawn

Early morning at Milford Sound. On this particular morning, the sun was out. It was early enough that the dozens of tour operators coming from Queenstown hadn’t yet set sail on the water, and all was still. I was lucky to capture this reflection, to have this private encounter with such a unique and popular place. While I hear that Milford in the rain is spectacular, I’d pick a quiet (dry) moment like this every time.

Great shot! I once did a cruise on Milford Sound in the rain, and it was spectacular. The waterfalls were HUGE!!!

I actually hiked the Milford Track, and on one of the days it poured. I feel like I got to experience Milford in the rain enough that day 🙂 But the waterfalls truly were spectacular there.
